Celebrity's Millennium Now this bad boy was having way too much fun "catching some air"! Another favorite subject to shoot, a little color and lots of green! Pretty cool path, easy and enjoyable! On the tender ride back I got the best seat in the house, it was so smooth they even let me open the door and hang my feet outside! Here we are pulling up the the ships own little dock, pretty cool! Adventures in Paradise - Alaskan Style!Rod's "Dog House Cruise" Day 12 - Icy Strait Point, Alaska
"Fifty miles west of Juneau and at the mouth of Glacier Bay, lies historic Icy Strait Point. Travelers have the unique opportunity to experience Tlingit culture, superior wildlife viewing opportunities and years of Alaskan history"
Day 12 bought me back to Icy Strait Point where we find a layer of fog created by the sunshine we had the day before. According to our Captain they navigated us into our anchorage in "zero" visibility, once again, nice job Capitan! The sun tried to peak out here in the picture on your right and did slowly burned off to reveal where! After breakfast we hopped onboard the "Tender" and we were off and running, well once we hit land that is! One of my favorite things about the tender service is the view of the ship from the water!
Here we are arriving in to the "little port" of Icy Straight Point. Not a lot here as far as the shopping goes, but I find it to be a real nice change of pace from being in a small town with 10,000 cruisers all about and not ONE diamond store to be seen, sorry Honey!
These next shots are for my daughter. It only took me 12 days to locate one but, I did find a beach! Pretty calm day in the inside passage today, just like most days!
First shot has two whales, one "spouting" and one with a fin in the air! The other shot is from my trail that turned and took me into the forest before coming to the... ...longest "ZipLine" in the world! For $100 you can take a 90 second ride at speeds up to 60 MPH! If wasn't for the cloud cover I was going to go for the photo opportunity. Click on the picture on your left and you can see the take off point. After my "couple of miles" walk, it was back to the ship. Here we are inside one of the tenders, one of three making the trips.
Once back onboard it was the same old thing, a little work booking new clients on their next cruise, another nice dinner for me in the "Alternative Dinning" restaurant, and then enjoyed a very good comedy act! Off to Ketchikan tomorrow, see you then! Rod Hunt - Owner/Agent
