Rod's "Dog House Cruise"
Links to.. The Northbound "Dog" Leg! These "little" pictures can be made "larger" by just clicking on them Can you "spot" my wee little companion in this picture? Click it! Where's Catfish? This shot reminds me of the beautiful Napali Coastline on my favorite "Tropical Island", then I stepped outside, WRONG! Look closely, I am standing on deck 11 looking across the pool at the Mount Roberts Tramway, that's how close we were, step off the ship, get on the tram! This is "Cosmos" on deck 11 that is one of the main "Night Club" where last night was a tribute to the 60's, Peace & Love! So what would you like to know?

Adventures in Paradise - Alaskan Style!Rod's "Dog House" Cruise Day 4 - Juneau, Alaska
"Where Earl Grey meets Eddie Bauer® would be a good way to describe the charms of Alaska's capital city. Here the pioneering spirit lives on in an interesting mix of cosmopolitan chic and frontier ruggedness. Visit the Alaska State Museum and its exquisite collection of Russian Orthodox and Gold Rush relics"
Day 4 - The sun wasn't
shinning bright, but the smiles sure were!
Once back
onboard is was time to warm up with a little espresso and then it
was
Here on your left is a
view of the "Ocean Cafe" off the aft of our ship looking
north past another vessel into downtown Juneau.
Looking south are two more ships making a total of four ships in port today. We arrived from the south, and leave the same way, plus it acts as the local "Seaplane Port"!
Okay, so here's the deal, you DO NOT have to eat in the main dinning room if you don't want too, so here's a few options I found for you! First up, "Alternative
Dinning" onboard all the Millennium Class ships produce a very nice
dinner served only with "fresh food" from the local area you are in.
I had a wonderful Lin Cod that was caught the same day in Juneau and
prepared to order in the kitchen you see here. Come as you are is
the concept or dress up if you like, it's a very nice facility and
hosted by a very professional staff! "Stir Fry" or "Italian Pasta" stations that cook what you want in front of your eyes, FRESH & HOT, definitely worked for me!
Or you can ALWAYS enjoy the Metropolitan Restaurant. No matter where I end up eating, or what I eat, and this is "My Choice", I always enjoy what I have and I always will!
Now that dinner is over, or even if you're just headed to eat, the view of a sail-a-way is a great sight to see! See you tomorrow! Rod Hunt - Owner/Agent |
