Adventures in Paradise - Alaskan Style!Rod's "Dog House" Cruise Day 3 - Ketchikan, Alaska
"In addition to being the jumping-off point for seaplane excursions into the Misty Fjords National Monument and its 2.2 million acres of wilderness nirvana, Ketchikan is also the ancestral home of the Tlingit tribe. Another "must-see" here is the world's largest collection of totem poles. You can learn what motivates someone to turn a piece of lumber into a towering work of art at the Saxman Native Village and Totem Bight and Totem Heritage Center"
Day 3 - Brings us to our first "port of call", Ketchikan, Alaska!
As you can tell, Flo is getting to know all of my friends! Below Flo is making a hair appointment at the "spa" with her new friend, I am not even trying to make friends here because I'm still trying to get out of the "Dog House" for just being here!
Now that breakfast is done and Flo's hair appointment was made, it was time for me to meet up with one of my new best friends, meet "Wilson", and yes, that's Flo again, she's not camera shy! Wilson finds his way to the Millennium from India and makes a VERY good double shot of espresso with a "splash" of water!
Below is another of my "secret spots" for breakfast, it's the "Omelet Station", yum-yum, anyway you like it, made to order!
Now in Ketchikan there is this little river that feeds a fish hatchery, click these pictures of the salmon "going with the flow", no not my Flo, she's back in the cabin resting after her morning outing! Thousands, I mean THOUSANDS of salmon! Ketchikan on the northbound has an early departure, 3:00 pm, and so off we go headed future north, but I'll be back in next week!
And with any good sail-a-way comes the endless punch bowl, well glasses full of something anyway! You can order just about anything you want and this guy will delivery them with a smile!
So much for this stop, now it's off for a little networking for me, along with "dinner and a show"! More to follow, next stop, Juneau Alaska!
