Adventures in Paradise - Alaskan Style!

Rod's "Dog House" Cruise

Day 2 - The Inside Passage - Cruising!

"This is one of the most famously beautiful passages in all the world. It features virtually everything you came to Alaska hoping to see, including rain forests, glaciers, fjords and white-capped peaks. All of which create a setting that's perfect for viewing whales and sea lions"

Day 2 - Wake up to nice "strong cup of coffee" and it's smooth sailing out of the passage between Vancouver Island and the Canadian mainland. First up was a visit to the gym to "walk" off a few extra calories from the night before. As the walk goes on the seas pick up as we enter open water for a few hours. For some, like me, this can be a welcome sight, for others it can make you wonder what's next! This next picture is the "open seas" and as you can see it's not the smoothest, but then again, it' not bad!

What's next is one of the most beautiful areas in the world, and here's the proof! Now these two shots are from the "aft" of the ship, you know the "rear", and you thought this ship was big, looks pretty narrow here going forward!

And this is where we came from, it's like going up a river!

This beautiful view is shoot off the aft deck where the "Ocean Cafe Bar" is located, right next to the buffet area where you can get just about anything you want, well food wise anyway! You can click on this image to see a larger photo if you like!

So you can just kick back, relax and enjoy the ride or you can go get busy with all the activities because that is what the "day time" cruising is all about, whatever you want it to be! "Life's a Journey, Enjoy the Ride!"

Evening Cruise!

Love the lights, the dew and the serenity of the evening here, makes you wonder what the rest of the world is doing, NOT!

Next up for me, it was off to dinner with the Chief Engineer in our first "Formal Night", what that meant for me is that I got to put on my "new" tuxedo! Just because I enjoy getting dressed up, doesn't mean you have to, there are plenty of "alternative dinning" options if you do not enjoy the "monkey suite" like I do! After dinner it's show-time, but onboard Celebrity Cruises, every night is show-time!
