A Closer Look At Azamara Club Cruises® Ships & Service!

The Azamara Journey out to sea!

In planning cruises for myself the one class of ship I have yet to be on is the one Azamara Cruise owns and operates and I felt that if you are doing the same I wanted to share with you what I have discovered.  So to keep it simple here are a few more "highlights" of the Azamara Journey and the Azamara Qwest, which are, for the most part, identical in design! I'll take you from the water level up!

Deck 3

Oceanview    This deck has just a few staterooms that are "Category 8", for details on this stateroom use this link, Ocean View Stateroom

Deck 4

This is your entry level to the ship with Guest Relations, the Excursion Desk and Boutique C. Staterooms available on this deck are category 12 Inside, and categories 4 & 5 Ocean View. Besides all of the above you have this beautiful staircase to deck 5.

Deck 5

Just up the stairs from deck 4 is where you will find most of the public areas, no staterooms at all on this deck. One of my main "hang outs" will be what was the "Cova Cafe" which is now called "Mosaics Cafe" on Azamara Cruises® is pictured here. This coffee corner may very well become your favorite nook on the ship as well as you'll find all your favorite coffee drinks and you can order them just the way you like them. Next to Mosaics is Indulgences, from designer eyewear to sought-after cognac and everything in between, it's the perfect place to window shop or to find that extra special purchase.  In the same area is the Journey Shop, or Qwest Shop, which has apparel, sundries, handbags, candies, cigarettes, souvenirs and lots more await. If you find that you forgot to pack something, chances are you'll find it here.

Besides a little shopping you will find the "Photo Gallery" and some entertainment value with Casino Luxe. Whether you're feeling lucky or you just enjoy the adrenaline rush of a casino, step into ours and you won't be disappointed. You'll find all your favorite table games, video slots, and a centrally located bar. Beyond the Casino you'll find The Cabaret Lounge, a showcase theater features a talented cast of singers performing some of the hottest shows at sea. Best of all, every seat in the house is excellent and you'll love the long, comfortable bar and excellent service.

Next stop, The Martini Bar! Shaken, stirred, sugar-rimmed or laced with chocolate, our sophisticated Martini Bar offers 20 variations of this popular libation. Gather with friends to warm up the evening before dinner or celebrate all night in this trendy, yet relaxing spot. The main dinning room onboard is Discoveries. With open seating and stellar nightly selections, our main dining room, Discoveries, is not to be missed. You'll find all your classic dinner favorites, with a deliciously different twist, such as gulf shrimp with cognac and garlic or a filet mignon with black truffle sauce. What's more, open seating provides you the opportunity to dine at your leisure.

Deck 6

A deck full of cabins only. Anything from the inside cabins to the Penthouse Suite. In-between you will find Ocean View cabin, Deluxe Ocean View with Veranda, Sunset Veranda and Royal Suites. To see more details on these staterooms just click the links here or on your left and you'll see the Azamara Cruises® website, you can also see the deck layout the same way. Oh yeah, don't forget to say hello to your "Butler", they come standard for EVERY stateroom!

Deck 7

A Deck full of cabins only, just like deck 6, Butler included!

Deck 8

A deck full of staterooms, four inside staterooms, a group of Deluxe Ocean View with Veranda staterooms, two Sunset Veranda staterooms, all of the Sky Suites and two of the Penthouse Suites, yes, Butlers here too!

Deck 9

This deck has a nice variety of public areas. Starting forward and walking to aft you will find the Spa Pool, basically a nice sized hot tub, just right for yourself and a few new friends!  Next is where you can melt your cares away with a 90-minute massage, invigorate yourself with a lime and ginger scrub or indulge in a silky, milk bath. Right next to the spa is the fitness center. Here you can take part in yoga at sunset or toning Pilates; our onboard Wellness consultant is there to assist you every step, or simply follow your own routine, "Honey & Huntzie Style"!

Before leaving the spa and fitness center you can stop by eConnections where you'll find the onboard Internet stations to stay in touch with the outside world, well if you want too! After your workout, your spa treatment, sending a couple of emails, head on outside and soak up a little sunshine to the pool deck. Maybe take a quick dip in the pool and even just rest your body in one of the two hot tubs! One of my favorite pastimes is easily done here as well, "people watching", it can be very entertaining and best of all it's included in your cruise fare as well!

Is it lunch time yet? Breakfast, lunch, casual dinner, you name it and you can get it here on deck 9. There is the Pool Grill for your outdoor "grilled goodies", the Windows Cafe, and out side all the way aft is my soon to be favorite spot, Breeza!

Window's Cafe is like dining in the comfort of a friend's home, it's Azamara's buffet restaurant that is casually elegant with a welcoming atmosphere and spectacular views. Choose to dine inside or out, like this picture shows, known as Breeza, and feast on a lavish display of culinary genius for breakfast, lunch or dinner. While there, be sure to admire the creations of Azamara Cruises® own sugar and chocolate artists, the experience is one you will enjoy!

Deck 10

Start forward at the Looking Glass Lounge. Of all the locales to relax and unwind aboard, this might very well become your preferred spot. Enjoy your favorite cocktail, admire the Murano glass, and gaze out the floor-to-ceiling windows and revel in how good life is at the moment. There's even a telescope so you can see what's waiting on the horizon!

Want to soak up the sounds of a grand piano as you share an intimate nightcap? Then look no further, "The Drawing Room", pictured here on your right. In this locale, just in front of the specialty restaurants, you will find the ambiance inspiring and the deep welcoming chairs make it the ideal place to savor a single-malt scotch prior to dinner or a late-evening cordial.

Deck 10 is where you will also spend some time dinning at the two specialty restaurants, Aqualina port side and Prime C, starboard. If you're in the mood for fantastic Mediterranean-inspired cuisine, make a reservation at Aqualina and I can guarantee that it will satisfy your taste for sumptuous fare in a relaxed, yet positively chic atmosphere, once again at no charge!

If steak and seafood are on your mind, then make your way over to Prime C. Full of atmosphere and loaded with flavor, this specialty restaurant surely aims to please all who enter. The broad wooden floors and rich paneling are more than inviting and the steaks will melt in your mouth! If you're like me a little stroll after a good meal can't be more convenient. Step out of either Prime C or Aqualina and go in-between Michael's Club, once out the doors you will be  directly on the Jogging Track, in my case the "Walking Track". If you have a nice warm Caribbean or Mediterranean evening full of stars be very careful, there might be a little romance in your future!

Deck11

Well if it is a little sunshine with some peace & quiet you're looking for to take that  good book, or just for a little nap, then head to the "Top" of your floating resort and claim your spot, because there is nothing more then a sun deck on deck 11!

I hope you enjoyed this little visual of the Azamara ships, if you have any questions or need any help in any way please do not hesitate to contact me!

Thank you for "cruising" the internet with me,

Maybe a little "Adventure Travel in Paradise" will be next!
