Harbour Light's 20th Anniversary Reunion Cruise

Day 1 - Seattle, Wa

Here she is in Seattle, Celebrity Cruises "Infinity", call her "Home" for a week!

Ready to set Sail?

For those enjoying your first cruise the picture on your left is an image of a "Muster Drill", a real treat we all get to experience prior to sailing, this will at 3:15 prior to our scheduled 4:00pm Departure. Once the Captain gives us the clearance to disperse, off we go!

Friday June 10^th – Ship Departs for Alaska 4:00 pm!

Next up for us will be off to the "Constellation Nightclub" for the first of our "private" events onboard the Infinity. The Constellation is located on the 11th deck forward with a great view of where we'll be headed, North to Alaska!

4:00 – 5:30 “Welcome Aboard” Private Harbour Lights reception and our first lighthouse sightings!

Further up the Puget sound and into the Strait of Juan de Fuca we'll see these two great looking lights along the way!

Point Wilson Lighthouse

Point Wilson marks the west entrance into the Puget Sound. It is the turning point from the Strait of Juan de Fuca into Admiralty Inlet. The current lighthouse was built in 1914, and the original lighthouse continued as the keepers' dwelling minus its tower. The new lighthouse features a 49-foot tower built in an octagonal shape to reduce wind pressure. The light still shines from a fourth-order Fresnel lens, a white light on for 15 seconds, then off 5 seconds, with one red flash during the occultation.

New Dungeness Lighthouse

New Dungeness was the last Coast Guard manned lighthouse on the West Coast. In 1994, the last keeper left. The Coast Guard was about to board up the lighthouse when volunteers with the Coast Guard Auxiliary and members of the New Dungeness Chapter of the U.S. Lighthouse Society set in motion a plan that has literally saved the lighthouse. The Chapter currently leases the station from the Coast Guard and manages a program where volunteers stay at the lighthouse for a week, maintaining the structure and greeting visitors. The program has proven so popular that the reservation list is two years long.

Long Evenings!

The Summer sun stays high in the sky this time of year, this shot was taken just after I had just passed New Dungeness Lighthouse around 8:00 pm and it stayed up until around 9:15, and this is still in Washington!

More to come, this was just the departure day!
